Loews Sapphire Falls Universal Orlando Resort Review

Do you want to escape to a tropical island paradise but heading to Orlando instead? Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will give you that Island vibe without the price tag. It will be hard to find a better resort at this price range.

Located only minutes away from Universal CityWalk, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and Universal Studios. Sapphire Falls resort should be your go to when visiting Orlando. You can drive, walk, or float on over to your favorite Universal destinations.

Continue reading below to see everything this great Universal Resort has to offer. It’s more than just early park admission. You will just have to see for yourself.

Rooms

There are two different room types you can book at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. You can choose from standard rooms or Luxury Suites. Standard rooms are 321 square feet while the suites range from 529 to 1,353 square feet. There are a total of five different suites to pick from.

With the standard rooms, you can pick from either a King or two queen beds. Plus they have a standard view, lagoon view, or pool view. On my most recent stay (one night) we had a two queen bed lagoon view room.

While the room only measures 321 square feet it doesn’t feel small. The sleeping area felt like it had plenty of room even if it doesn’t show up in the photos. The chair and desk were also not bad. Unlike at Cabana Bay (be sure to check out that review too), the table was a nice size and the chair was comfortable.

Now the beds were amazing. The best bed I’ve slept on, on my most recent trip to Florida. I stayed at a couple different hotels and resorts and this was by far the BEST bed we slept on.

It was so comfortable I can’t even begin to describe it. It was amazing. I felt so refreshed in the morning. More than I had on my two week trip.

Now the beds were amazing but the bathroom area wasn’t all that great. The shower was awesome with it’s built-in bench. The water pressure was great too. Same thing with the temperature. No issues with the shower at all. The issue was with the toilet.

The toilet lacks flushing power. We were on the third floor, so it wasn’t like we were really high in the resort. The lobby is located on the second floor so that should tell you something.

I had the same issue over at Cabana Bay. However, at Cabana Bay, I just figured it was because we were staying on a higher floor. At Sapphire Falls, I am not sure what it is. Too be fair, I also had an issue with the flushing power at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld. So maybe it is just these high floor resorts around Orlando. Guess I will have to check out a couple more.

The room also comes with a single cup coffee maker which makes decent coffee. Plus you will find USB outlets right by the bed. Could you ask for anything more?

The desk and chair at Sapphire Falls was surprisingly very comfortable. The chair wasn’t rock hard. Plus you had plenty of space at the table to cover all your needs while you are on vacation.

One last thing to go over is the sink and mirror area. Both the water pressure and temp were good. When you wash your hands it won’t take you a long time to get the soap off.

My favorite thing was the mirror. All you had to do was touch it to brighten the light. I can’t say that I have ever seen that before so I found that very cool. I did play around with it.

Recreation

If you are looking for a wonderful pool, Loews Sapphire Falls Resort has a great one for you. This 16,000 square foot pool has all the space you need to have an enjoyable pool day. Hit the slide or take a dip in the Hot Tube.

The pool area is amazing. It doesn’t matter if you are only spending an hour or the whole day. There is plenty of room for everyone.

While relaxing by the pool, be sure to grab a bite to eat from Drhum Club Kantine. They offer a wide range of food and drinks. Get pizza, burgers, chicken wings, and even tacos. You will also find a nice selection of canned and draft beers. Don’t be afraid to try your favorite cocktails served in either 15 oz. Hurricane Glass or 45 oz. Super Bowl souvenir glasses.

Also by the pool you will find pool tables and ping pong tables around. No need for money for the ping pong tables. However, you will need money for the pool table.

Just inside you will come across the arcade. There are newer and classic games for you to play. Will you be able to outrun a T-rex?

You will also find a very impressive gym. Anything you could want. You will find it at Sapphire Falls fitness center. Everything from treadmills, weight machines, and even dumbbells. You can easily get a good workout while on vacation relaxing. Send the rest of the fam to the pool while you hit the weights.

While the theme parks are not at the resort they are very close by. In some areas of the hotel you can see the icon of Volcano Bay. It is pretty much located next door past Cabana Bay Beach Resort.

If you listen closely you might hear the roar of Hulk over in Islands of Adventure. Even if you don’t you will hear it as you walk or float on over.

Transportation to the Parks

You can easily get to the theme parks in three easy ways. One way is to walk. You can walk to both CityWalk and Volcano Bay. Volcano Bay is a short walk from the rest.

CityWalk and the theme parks are a little longer but not by much. It’s a nice little walk along the Garden Walk which is nice and shaded. It does get a little warm in the middle of the afternoon in the summer but you should already know that.

Another way to get to the Volcano Bay, CityWalk, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure is to take the shuttle bus. Shuttle buses run all day and night. Just check the times to make sure you don’t miss the last bus.

Perhaps the best way to get to Universal CityWalk is by boat. Get on the water taxi and float your way over to eat, shop, or play. This was my preferred mode of transportation when I stayed at Sapphire Falls Resort.

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort is a Preferred level Hotel at Universal Orlando Resort. With it’s dining options, transportation, and rooms. It will be hard to find a better place at this price.

Plus staying at a Universal Resort gives you some added benefits. You can enjoy early park Admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter up to an hour before the park opens. If you are a fan of Harry Potter or just a fan of good rides, it is something that cannot be beat. You won’t be getting early access like this at any Disney Hotel.

Are you thinking of visiting Universal Orlando? Looking to stay at a Universal Resort? Are you thinking of Loews Sapphire Falls Resort? If not you should be. It is a great resort with a ton to offer. So what are you waiting for? This island escape is waiting for you!
