On my most recent trip to Orlando, I stayed at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek. It is located on Walt Disney World Property and only minutes away from EPCOT and right behind Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. If you want to stay close to the parks but don’t want to pay the Disney price. Wyndham Grand Resort is the place for you.

This is a big hotel for you to enjoy. It doesn’t matter if you are visiting the parks or just relaxing at the resort. Either way you will have a fun and enjoyable time.
I had a two night stay in the middle of August and had a wonderful time. So much so that I may not stay at a Disney Resort again. Especially if Disney keeps getting rid of perks. So take a look below and see everything we have to say about Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek. You too might just want to book this place too! One last thing we should mention. Bonnet Creek is considered a Deluxe resort according to Walt Disney World and is listed as a Gateway Hotel.
Rooms
First let’s put your mind at ease. Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek was nominated as AAA Inspector’s Best of Housekeeping award for 2020. So you know your room will be clean and spotless. That’s a great thing when it comes to traveling right now.
The rooms available to rent come with a King or two queen beds and you can get them with or without a balcony. You can also get the same room type with a lake view which will cost you a little more. The last room type to book is one with Bunk beds. Don’t worry mom and dad they also have a King or two queen beds too.

You have so much space in the rooms with the King size bed plus you have a couch and coffee table. This was the room that we had for two nights. Plus we had the balcony. The view wasn’t the greatest but it was nice to have. I sat out there for a good amount of time. You get a nice breeze out there too.

All of the rooms have a 55” 4K flat screen TV, Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge, and a great little table. Like I said the king bed rooms also have a couch and coffee table. Plus the rooms also have a decent amount of outlets and some with USB ports so it is easy to plug in your phone.

The bathroom area is large however, where the shower and toilet is, is a little tight. It is hard to get changed in there. It’s doable but tight. Now where the sink is, is huge. Problem is you don’t have a door to close if you are trying to get changed. Doesn’t matter so much if you are traveling with your SO. But if it’s friends or your kids you can’t do that.
The water pressure and temperature in the shower was perfect. We were on a high floor and didn’t have any issues. Inside the shower you also had your shower gel, conditioner, and shampoo on the wall. No little bottles in the shower but you did have some by the sink. I must say I wasn’t a huge fan of this before but it is growing on me.

Also the flushing power on the toilet was good too. Again no issues. It really seems like hit or miss on hotels and resorts that have high floors if the flushing power will be good. Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek didn’t have that problem.
The bed was also very comfortable. The bed wasn’t too hard or soft. It made for a great night of sleep. The pillows were also very comfortable and you got a lot of them. There was at least four.

The balcony made for a nice place to sit and enjoy the sunrise, sunset, or Orlando storm. Both nights I stayed here I was watching storms off in the distance. They never made it close to us which was also really nice.

Recreation
There is so much to do around the resort that you will have plenty to do on the days you skip the parks. Everything from swimming, mini golf, billiards, corn hole, a fitness center and much more. In between each building was also 4 grills. This is something I wish I would have known about before I visited. I would have definitely cooked up burgers one night.
Now there are so many different pools to pick from. Looking at the map it doesn’t seem like many but there are. You have one with a lazy river. One with a pirate ship and slide and many that are just a pool. We didn’t even check them all out and stayed mostly by our building.

The pools all had plenty of chairs to sit it. Plus there were plenty of towels available too. One thing to note is you have to get a towel by “your” pool. At least that was how it worked for us since we were staying in the “hotel” building and not the time share ones.
Another thing to make note of is they stop handing out towels at a certain time. Not sure what time that was but I know at 7ish at night. That area was all closed up.
You will also find a fitness center at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek. Again I am not sure if it is in all the buildings but the Hotel building had one. Plus it was a great size.
You won’t just find a couple dumbbells’ and one treadmill. There is a lot of equipment to use. You won’t have to worry about skipping a couple of days of your workout.
They don’t have as much as your local gym but more than enough for you to get a good workout in while on vacation. Of course, between all the walking and everything else you might be doing should cover your workout needs.

Plus you can also walk around the whole resort area. It’s not a long walk but it is a nice little walk with some great views. If you get tired, stop off at one of the swings. They too have some great views around the resort.
While on your walk you can stop off and play a game of bean bags. Or see how good your mini golf game is. It is amazing how many things you can do around the resort. Plenty of things to occupy your week.
Dining
At Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort you have a couple different dining options to choose from. You can grab everything from sushi to burgers and even Starbucks coffee (if that’s your thing). Even the room service menu has anything you would want from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are open for room delivery from 6am to 10pm daily.

You have many different choices around the resort. We only checked out two different places and they were both good. We had nachos at Escudos Bar & Grill. The only issue was not a lot of seating. Other than that it was a great place to check out.
We also ate at Back Bay Bar & Grill. This place was amazing. The food was great. The service was great. I can’t think of one thing to say that would be bad.
The boneless wings were delicious. They were crispy and had the right amount of sauce. The burger was good too. We got the sliders and they were cooked perfectly. The food was really good.
I am planning on staying here again. I will have to try everywhere else next time. Or try as many as I can. My aunt has stayed here a couple of different times. I don’t ever remember her saying anywhere was bad and that she wouldn’t go to again.
Local Area
The location of this hotel is amazing. It is located right on Disney World Property and a quick drive to Disney Springs. From some of the balconies you can even watch the fireworks from EPCOT.
All four Disney Parks are within reach from here too. Just drive to them on your own or you can take a Bus from the hotel. Just the buses don’t continue to run all day like at the Disney Resorts. Plus you won’t get free parking like you would if you stayed at a Disney Hotel.
Besides Walt Disney World being so close you are also very close to two other Orlando theme parks. SeaWorld is around six miles away and Universal is nine miles away. If you are looking for thrill rides both of those theme parks have you covered.

You will find roller coasters like Rip Ride Rocket, Kraken, Mako, Incredible Hulk Coaster, and many, many more. In total the local area has seven major theme parks, four water parks, and one amazing animal encounter location (Discovery Cove). Plus it has all your shopping needs covered.
The Orlando outlets are close by too. They are filled with your favorite stores like Nike, Crocs, Old Navy, Coach, Adidas, and even an amazing Disney outlet. This Disney outlet isn’t like your one back home either. Here you can find merch that was sold in the theme parks for deeply discounted prices. Pins, clothing, collectables, houseware, and so much more can be found inside.
Food options in the area are amazing too. Unlike if you stayed at a Disney Resort and didn’t have a car. Here you will most likely have your own car so the possible are endless for you on where you can go. You won’t just be stuck with the resort food court or Disney Springs. You can grab breakfast at the Waffle House or dinner at Miller’s ale house. There are just so many chain restaurants in the area you won’t know what to do.
If you want to visit Walt Disney World and don’t want to pay the Disney prices check out Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek. From amazing rooms to amazing views. They have you covered in all your Orlando vacation needs. You could even spend a week at the resort and not visit any of the theme parks and would still have an epic time.
