Pennsylvania is a big state with almost anything to everything to offer you. It has wide open fields and huge mountain ranges. You can go fishing in a stream, lake, or river. Visit cities both big and small along with even seeing one of the great lakes.
With so many things to do, it is hard to do them all or even most of them. Here is a list of the best things that Pennsylvania has to offer this summer.

2019 Thurston Classic- June 13-16th
The Thurston Classic happens in Meadville, PA which is located about 45 minutes south of Erie PA. It is a hot air balloon festival with dozens of balloons flying high in the sky.
Throughout Pennsylvania in June and July local fairs will pop up all over the place. They can be a fun night out with your kids or even just a night out with the spouse.
Wawa Welcome America – June 30 to July 4th
Every year in the City were America was born (Philadelphia) Wawa holds the Welcome America Festival. There are many free and ticketed events to do. Make sure you stay for the fireworks on the 4th.
Gettysburg Reenactment – July 5-7th
This is the 156th reenactment of the battle of Gettysburg. Going out to Gettysburg on a normal weekend is fun. Checking it out during a reenactment is simply amazing.
Philadelphia Zoo – All summer
If you are in PA this summer, a must stop is the Philadelphia Zoo. This summer the zoo has 12 life size LEGO brick statues. Besides the statues, the zoo keys are back as well. The keys are used at different locations throughout the zoo for unique information on the animals at the zoo.
Kecksberg UFO Festival – July 26-28th
This is the 14th year of this Festival. It celebrates the Kecksberg UFO incident from December of 1965. No need to go out to Roswell or Area 51. Just take a trip to Kecksberg this summer.
Three Rivers Regatta – Aug 2-4
The Three Rivers Regatta located in Pittsburgh, PA is one of the largest annual events in Pittsburgh. There are events all around the river including boat races, sky diving shows and food trucks and much more. Check out their site for a full list of the weekend activities.
Franklin Institute- now till Sept 2
This summer at the Franklin Institute they are showcasing Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes. They have over 300 artifacts related to Marvel comics and the movies. Just watch out you never know if Thanos will show up and snap you away.
