Top 10 Road Trip Songs

Ever since I was 18 I’ve spent many hours driving on the highway. When I was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC I would travel home about once a month. I would be in the car for approximately 16 hours that weekend (Friday to Sunday), most of that time on I95.

One thing to remember that back than you would either change radio stations every 50 miles or change CDs every hour. We didn’t even have satellite radio yet.  I had the presets ready on my radio for every change. I even made sure I had certain things ready when I hit certain areas. DC101 when I was around Washington DC. Or The devil went down to Georgia when I came up to the rising sun exit in Maryland. Anything by Florida Georgia Line when I am coming up to the Florida Georgia Line on 95.

Not only do they help make the ride just that much more enjoyable, it gives me something to look forward to. I have even gotten my daughter to start picking things out in songs. After all we spend a lot of time in the car driving all over the place.

Having a good play list can greatly increase your enjoyment of the trip. Making a list of your favorites along with sprinkling these ten songs in will help make the long drive feel faster.

So here we go. Here are the top 10 songs you need to play while on your next road trip.

  1. I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)- Original By The Proclaimers

2. Road Trippin’ – Red Hot Chili Peppers
