One tripod to rule them all?? Is the Joby Gorillapod It?

The Joby Gorillapod is one of the best tripods out there. While it is not the tallest of tripods out there, surprisingly it’s not the smallest either. That honor can go to the manfrotto mini tripod which stands at an amazing height of 13 cm.

The Joby Gorillapod depending on the model can give you a max height between 25 to 37 cm. Make sure you get the right one for your uses. Don’t just go for the cheaper one because it’s cheap. Get the one that will hold your camera up. I have the 3k kit with ballhead.

This hybrid tripod can be used in a variety of locations. They can be setup on even or uneven ground.  Hanging on a tree branch or on the rails of a balcony. You can even set them up on the back of a park bench to get you some more height.

It’s important to pay attention to your surroundings. It it is very windy out, you may want to set it up a little closer to the ground. Same thing goes for attaching it to a branch on a tree. If the limbs are moving…. Probably not the best place to put the gorillapod. Besides your pictures will most like be blurry.

Now I have had it out in 15mph winds with my Canon T7I with the kit lens (18-55mm) and my 50mm. Not once was i worried about it tipping over. Can’t say that about my other tripods.

Another great feature is the ball head on the top. You can quickly change from landscape to portrait in seconds. It also comes with a quick release much like every other tripod out there.

Now I own a few different tripods but this is the one that I have with me at all times. I am not one who likes to have the strap around the neck. So holding this like a stick feels much more secure to me.

If you are a vlogger the gorillapod is the perfect tool. It lets you get that added distance you so often need when videoing yourself. It’s also has a nice feel in your hands.

Over all I really like this tripod. It has suited my many needs the past six months or so. It is nice a stable for some long exposure photos as well. I used it back in the fall at Bushkill Falls.

If you are looking for a tripod you should give this one a shot. It is very versatile and has held up well for me so far. I have had it in my car in the summer and also in the winter.

Bonus for those of you that still feel a little weird going out with your DSLR. It’s small so you won’t have this huge tripod drawing everyone attention. Let me know if you have one or plan on getting one or already have one by leaving a comment down below. I have a few amazon affiliate links for you to check out the Joby Gorillapod and other gear that was listed. Clicking the links helps support my blog and let me just say thank you.
