Overcrowding and Noise Levels

One of the key considerations for guests staying at Disney’s All Star Resorts is the issue of overcrowding and noise levels, which can significantly impact the overall experience. With large numbers of guests congregating in common areas and the hustle and bustle of activity throughout the day, some visitors may find it challenging to relax and unwind during their stay.

Many groups like high schools, dance studios, and more, chose to stay at the All Star Resorts for the cheaper prices when they are coming down for a week. Many of these groups are here for competitions or class trips. While it might not be too crowded during the day, at night is a whole different story. Just be prepared to see many kids and teenagers all around the three resorts.

As we delve deeper into the drawbacks of these resorts, it’s important to also address the limited dining options and potential concerns regarding food quality that guests may encounter during their time at Disney’s All Star Resorts.

Limited Dining Options and Food Quality

While Disney’s All Star Resorts offer a variety of dining options, some guests may find the choices to be limited compared to other Disney properties. The quick-service restaurants and food courts at the resorts can often become crowded during peak dining times, leading to long lines and wait times for meals. Additionally, the food quality at these establishments may not always meet the high standards that Disney is known for, with some guests reporting issues such as cold or overcooked food.

On the plus side, all three All Star Resorts are very close to each other so it makes walking to a different food court pretty easy. You will however, find most of the same items at all three resorts. Things like pasta, salads, burgers, pizza and chicken. Some of the desserts are a little different between the resorts which makes it worth the trip on a resort day.

Maintenance Issues and Room Conditions

Main Pool at All Star Music

Guests at Disney’s All Star Resorts have reported various maintenance issues, ranging from leaky faucets to malfunctioning air conditioning units. These inconveniences can dampen the overall experience of the stay and have left some visitors feeling less than satisfied with their accommodations.

All Star Music and Sports both opened in 1994 (Almost 30 years ago). All Star Movies opened in 1999 (25 years ago). However, they have all recently gone through a room remodel. The updated rooms are very nice compared to what they were just a few years ago. If you visited in the past, it might be worth it to check the resorts out again.

I will say that the rooms are a big improvement from what they were. We personally really liked the Murphy bed that converts into a table. Its nice to have somewhere for your family to sit down and enjoy a meal or a game before going to bed or when taking a break from the Florida heat.

Transportation

A big drawback from staying at the All Star Resorts is the transportation. Well lack of transportation options. The only way to get to the parks is to drive yourself or take one of the Disney Buses. Depending on the time of the year all three resorts share the same bus.

The buses can get very crowded and have long waits. Plus you will be standing out in the elements while waiting for the bus at the resorts. There is no overhang in the bus line.

Another thing to remember is the resorts are far from the theme parks. Animal Kingdom is the closest theme park and takes less than 10 minutes to get there on the bus. Magic Kingdom will take you 20 minutes or longer most of the time.
